What a kurti photoshoot actually costs in India in 2026

Real 2026 prices for kurti photography in India — per-photo studio rates, per-piece catalogue quotes, full-day model shoots, and what AI catalogue images cost per finished photo. With the costs each option hides.

Ask three people what a kurti photoshoot costs in India and you will get ₹49, ₹550 and ₹30,000. All three are real prices. They are quotes for different things, and the gap between them is where most sellers lose money — usually by budgeting for the cheap number and discovering, halfway through, that they needed the expensive one.

This is what each option actually costs in 2026, what is included in the quote, and what is not.

The four ways sellers pay for catalogue images

Why the ₹49 photo is not the ₹500 photo

The cheapest rates you will find — ₹49 to ₹69 per image from studios advertising nationally — are almost always product-only photography. You ship the kurti, they shoot it on a flat surface, a hanger or an invisible mannequin, and they send back clean images on white. It is a genuinely good deal for what it is, and if you sell on Meesho or Flipkart, where a clean product shot on white is what the primary image needs to be, it may be all you need.

The ₹500-per-piece quotes are a different product. They include a human model, which changes the arithmetic entirely: someone has to be booked, styled, paid and photographed, and that cost is spread across however many designs you send. This is why catalogue houses quote per piece but insist on a minimum batch. One kurti at ₹500 is not a real offer; forty kurtis at ₹500 each is.

What a full-day shoot really costs

Professional photography rates in India for a session day land in the ₹15,000–₹30,000 band before the model. Model fees for catalogue work start around ₹15,000 for a day and climb steeply with experience — well past ₹1,00,000 for anyone with a following.

A day shoot only makes sense at volume. Photograph forty designs in a day at a combined ₹40,000 and you are at ₹1,000 per design for a full set of images, which is competitive. Photograph six, and you are at ₹6,600 each, which is not. The break-even is the thing to work out before booking, and it is the calculation most first-time sellers skip.

  • Studio and photographer: ₹15,000–₹30,000 for the day
  • Model: ₹15,000 upward, quoted separately almost every time
  • Styling, ironing, assistants: usually yours to arrange or pay for
  • Post-production: sometimes included, often ₹50–₹150 per delivered image
  • Your own day: you or someone you trust has to be there for all of it

What AI catalogue images cost per photo

AI product photography is priced in credits rather than per shoot, which makes the per-photo number easy to hide. Here is Zuri AI's, worked out plainly. An HD image costs 10 credits, 2K costs 15 and 4K costs 20. Divide the plan price by its credits and you get the rate per credit; multiply by 10 and you have the cost of a finished HD catalogue photo.

PlanPrice / monthCreditsPer HD photoPer 4K photo
Starter₹39980₹50₹100
Growth₹799220₹36₹73
Pro₹1,799550₹33₹65
Max₹5,9992,000₹30₹60

Paying annually is nine months' price for twelve, which takes Growth to about ₹27 per HD photo.

So per image, AI sits between the ₹49 product-only studio rate and nothing much else. The comparison that matters is not against ₹49 — it is against ₹500, because an AI image can put the garment on a model, and the ₹49 photo cannot.

Where each option genuinely wins

We sell one of these four, so take the following with that in mind — but a comparison that pretends the alternatives have no strengths is not worth reading.

  • Choose a per-photo studio if you only need clean product shots on white, you already courier stock regularly, and you are not in a hurry. At ₹49–₹69 per image nothing beats it on price.
  • Choose a full-day shoot if you have thirty or more designs ready at once, a marketing campaign that needs a consistent look, and the working capital to pay for it up front. Nothing else gives you the same control.
  • Choose a catalogue house if you want the whole thing handled and your volumes fit their minimum.
  • Choose AI if your designs change faster than you can book studios, if you cannot part with stock for two weeks, or if you need on-model images at a per-image price. It is also the only option where the cost of trying one design is effectively zero.

A reasonable way to decide

  1. Count the designs you need images for this month. Under ten, a day shoot will not pay back.
  2. Check where you are listing. Meesho and Flipkart want a clean product shot on white; Myntra will not accept apparel without a model. That decides whether the ₹49 option is even on the table.
  3. Work out what a two-week wait costs you in a festive month. For most sellers this number is larger than the photography bill.
  4. Try the cheapest viable option on two designs before committing to forty.
